Construction of a $90 million cancer institute is expected to thrust Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center into the big leagues of treatment.

Fred Slunecka, regional president of Avera McKennan, said he is confident the coming Avera Cancer Institute will rank among the nation’s top 10 in terms of facility and program offerings.
