A daylong tax workshop designed for new and small businesses will be held May 21 in Sioux Falls. The free workshop will include a discussion led by the state Department of Revenue and Regulation on sales, use and contractors' excise taxes. The state Department of Labor will discuss labor and employment laws, including topics such as wage and hour requirements and unemployment insurance benefits. Representatives of the Small Business Development Center and U.S. Small Business Administration will discuss consulting services available to businesses. The workshop will be from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. in room 257 of the Sullivan Health Center at Southeast Technical Institute, 2320 N.
