"The Geography of Bliss: One Grump’s Search for the Happiest Places in the World" • Eric Weiner
A self-proclaimed grump (even as a child, he says), Eric Weiner sets out to visit the “happy” places on earth. As a foreign correspondent for National Public Radio, he has spent a good part of his career reporting from some of the unhappiest places on earth, including Iraq and Afghanistan. The author decides it’s time to visit “happy places” to find out if democracy, spirituality, wealth or even chocolate make the residents “un-unhappy.” It’s a travel memoir, psychology book and humorous read, all rolled into one. – Shelie Farrand, community relations manager, Barnes & Noble Booksellers |
