"Provence A-Z" • Peter Mayle
Francophiles everywhere will delight in Peter Mayle’s latest collection of short essays on his beloved Provence area of France. Each topic is as short as one paragraph or as long as a few pages. Unlike his past accounts, this reads like an encyclopedia of customs, idioms and observations starting with “accent” and ending with “zingue, zingue, zoun.” It is written in the true Mayle style of whimsy, without too many tongue-in-cheek references to turn the reader off. His view of life as a British expatriate in Provence is funny and informative and will make any reader wish the book was twice as long. – Shelli Masek, marketing coordinator, Elite Business Systems |
