(Inertia/for the SFBJ) Faini Designs Jewelry Studio is adding some bling to this year’s Gourmet Guys benefit.The Sioux Falls family business is donating a Chatham ruby pendant to be given away to a guest at the event April 13 at the Center for Active Generations. Gerard Faini estimates the necklace’s value at $1,200. Faini has been part of Gourmet Guys for the past four or five years. “It’s a blast to participate in. It’s enjoyable. They do such a wonderful job at getting everyone involved,” he said. The 2007 Gourmet Guys event raised a record $50,000 for the Center for Active Generations, and Shelley Hanisch, director of development, hopes to match that this year.

(Inertia/for the SFBJ) In addition to the samplings of items being prepared by 40 men from the community, guests will be treated to complimentary beer, wine and entertainment. Faini is preparing Ruby Ravioli, a family recipe handed down through generations. It takes two days to prepare. “It’s awesome stuff,” he said.
