The Sioux Falls Municipal Band is in the final stretch of its 2008 concert season. Four concerts remain:
• 7:30 p.m. July 30, Avera Prince of Peace
• 3 p.m. Aug. 3, McKennan Park
• 8 p.m. Aug. 3, Terrace Park
• 3 p.m. Aug. 10, McKennan Park, as part of the McKennan Tribute

August 2
Stogeez Cigar Lounge hosts its fifth annual Stogeez Steak-out from 6 p.m. to 11:30  p.m. on Phillips Avenue between 10th and 11th streets. The fundraiser for the Teddy Bear Den features a sirloin steak dinner and the 11-piece band Radio Specialists. Food is served until 9 p.m., costs $10 and includes a beer or glass of wine. Tickets are limited. Call 274-3810.  
 
August 5-10
The Sioux Empire Fair has a full lineup ready for the grandstand:
Aug. 5: Little Big Town with Jake Owen, 8 p.m., $20 reserved, $10 grandstand
Aug. 6: Sugarland, 8 p.m., $35
Aug. 7: Staind with Theory of a Deadman, 8 p.m., $30
Aug. 8: Chicago, 8 p.m., $27
Aug. 9: Supercross Racing, 5 p.m., $15 for adults, $10 for kids 12 and younger
Fair hours are noon to midnight
Tuesday, 10 a.m. to midnight Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for ages 12 and younger. All-day carnival passes cost $20 in advance at Lewis, Sunshine and Get-N-Go and $25 at the gate. A platinum pass good for unlimited rides Tuesday through Friday is available only in advance for $40.
Grandstand tickets are available at the fair office and Ticketmaster outlets. Charge by phone at 334-8181 or at www.ticketmaster.com. Call the fairgrounds at 367-7178 with questions.
