Sioux Falls will celebrate the 100th anniversary of one of its jewels – McKennan Park – with festivities Aug. 8-10.

Perhaps most fitting is a mother and child tea party to be held in the Sunken Gardens of the park beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 9. It is a tribute to the intentions of Helen McKennan to have the park used by mothers and their children as a place to enjoy fresh air and sunshine.
