“Goodnight Nobody” by Jennifer Weiner While my research to find a good book lacks energy (a search of the bestsellers at Target or the airport news shop), this book was a pleasant surprise that had me smiling with understanding on a number of occasions. Kate, a stay-at-home mom with a previous professional life, finds herself with children (that came a little too close together) and a husband who feels the whole family would be much safer in Connecticut suburbia than NYC. Kate’s narrative of family life, keeping up with the soccer moms and surviving each and every day as a mother touched me with its humor, and the murder mystery kept me reading. This book won’t change the world, but it sure made an enjoyable difference in my day! – Terri Schuver, Prairie Dance Inc./Sticks and Steel |
