Shelley Hanisch, director of development, said 100 perecent of that money stays with the center. Next year’s event will help the senior facility celebrate its 40th anniversary, and Hanisch said they’re considering ways to make it special, perhaps even a guys vs. gals approach. • The Big Grape drew a sold-out crowd for the annual high-end wine tasting at the Avera McKennan Fitness Center. More than 800 guests were treated to wines from more than two dozen wineries, food from 10 local businesses and a silent auction. A record $167,000 was raised with proceeds benefitting families served at Avera Children’s Hospital & Clinics.
