Central, Fremar farmers cooperatives to merge |

Central Farmers Cooperative and FreMar Farmers Cooperative have approved a merger. Central Farmers is in Salem, Montrose, Canistota and Canova. FreMar is in Freeman, Marion and Dimock. Central Farmers members and FreMar stockholders approved the unification agreement and bylaw changes. The new cooperative will use the Central Farmers Cooperative name. The two cooperatives conducted a feasibility study, held a number of discussions and had joint board meetings and inspected all facilities before merging. The cooperatives expect the merger to increase competitiveness and services.
