A weeklong training conference in Orlando, Fla., turned into a family-bonding experience for Kirsten Walrath-Noem. She brought along her 10-year-old son, Robert, and met her mother, Debbie, there.
Kirsten Walrath-Noem (center) a corporate trainer for MetaBank, brought her son, Robert, when she went to Florida for a training conference in February. Her mother, Debbie, also joined them. (submitted photo) It was “a good chance for him and I to reconnect and have an adventure together,” she said. Husband Brookes, network administrator at Richland Loan Processing Center Inc., and their two daughters, Annika and Claire, stayed home. While Walrath-Noem, a corporate trainer for MetaBank, was in class all day, Robert and Debbie toured Disney World. She said it gave her a balance to the full days of training. “It was nice to in the evening have something to occupy my time instead of feeling like I had to sit and study all the time because I think I would have gotten burnt out,” she said.
Laura Glanville Laura Glanville, admissions counselor at the University of Sioux Falls, makes the most of her work trips, too.
Robert Glanville and dogs Turner and Gabby often accompany Laura Glanville on her admissions trips for the University of Sioux Falls. Husband Robert and dogs Turner and Gabby often accompany her on recruiting fairs and student visits to North Dakota, eastern South Dakota and Nebraska. “Most the time the fairs are a few hours a day so we have a lot of downtime. So it gives a lot of time to tour the area or go on walks in the cities, exploring, as well as fun for the students. They get to meet them (the dogs).” |
