Students from Roosevelt, Washington and West Central high schools will be competing at the Junior Achievement of South Dakota office for the regional title and a chance to move into the National competition in New York City this July. The competition is at 11:30 a.m. May 30. The four invited teams will compete against 21 other regional locations from across the country. Citigroup Foundation and Junior Achievement Worldwide chose South Dakota along with the 21 other sites as pilot locations for the Banks in Action program. The program and competition are being funded here in Sioux Falls by a donation of $4,000 from Citigroup Foundation. “Citigroup’s community partnership with Junior Achievement has been strong for over 25 years,” said Kristie Fiegen, president of Junior Achievement of South Dakota Inc. “Citigroup expanded their partnership this year by developing the new JA Banks in Action high school program. We are excited about their commitment to impacting students with financial education.” The Citigroup Foundation will fly the top 10 teams to New York City.
